Edna and Emil

A very special print of Nude in Tall Grasses that Edna Bullock inscribed and gave to Emil White for his 88th birthday mysteriously appeared at a garage sale in Prunedale 20 years ago.  Journalist Joe Livernois discovered the print and recently wrote a fascinating tale that weaves together the threads of the print, Emil, Edna, the rest of the Bullock family and a colorful slice of Big Sur history.  We now have this beautiful historic photo for sale in the gallery for $5,000, and it will be accompanied by a copy of Joe’s article.  Proceeds will go towards the UCSC acquisition of the Bullock Family Photography Archive thanks to Joe who has generously donated this print in support of that project.
